FGB Wakeup
Purpose
Home made freeware ultra small utility that allows to power on or shutdown the Yaesu FT rig. It has been tested on the FT-5000. It works also on FT 450-950-1200-2000-3000-5000-9000. It does NOT require any installation, just the exe files. However if you prefer, an installer is also available (so you will have the entry in Windows Start menu). Nothing more but sometime may be useful.
Requirements

PC with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. It should work also on Windows XP and Vista (never tested).

Microsoft Dot Net 4.0 Framework libraries (normally already installed in 99% of the computers today). If you don’t have it, you can download and install it for free from the Microsoft official web site at : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851

CAT interface connected to the RTX (just a serial cable is enough).

Yaesu RTX (From FT450 up to FT9000) connected to the PC via serial port (or via USB Serial Port emulator).
Set up
Download the zip which contain the tradition setup (with the wizard) that will install the program and create program entry and shortcut too (also unistaller is avalible).
Instructions
No need of a user guide. Just run it, set com port, baud rate, click on the green button to power on, click the red button to power down your RTX.

New Version 2
This is a new version, unistall v.1 and use this one if you want to try remote client/server.
Instructions
Just setup the Wakeup utility on the Station PC (the one connected to the RTX) as normal, in the setup tab set com, baudrate, and try to power on and off your rig.
If you want to remote this function , then set a password (up to 12 char, case sensitive) and a free Tcp port (from 1025 to 65535); click Start and minimize if you want the small utility (but leave it running). If asked, accept to open the firewall ports. If you need to use it from the Internet then you must set the port forward on your internet router.
Then on a remote PC, just use the client (see below).
FGB Wakeup Client v.2
This is the client that can send commands to the station PC to power ON/OFF your RIG.
Instructions
Once the Wakeup is running on the Station PC and Server has been enabled (start), just run the client on any other PC connected to the Lan or Internet.
Go to setup tab. In Hostaname or IP text box, type the LAN IP (ie : 192.168.1.2) or an Internet IP (213.213.213.213) or a Dns name (mycomputer.dyndns.ip) of the Station PC. In Port use the same TCP Port of the Station PC, In Password type the same password as in the Station PC. Once done, you can go to Controls tab and use the Green button to Power ON the Rig connected to the Station PC and the Red button to power down. The Gray buttom is to power down the StationPC.
Step by step
STATION PC (FGB Wakeup.exe)
0.Go to setup tab
1.Set the com port (connected to rig).
2.Set the speed (same baud rate as in rig menu).
3.Click on Power On button to Wakeup your RTX.
4.Click on Power Off button to Shutdown your RTX.
OPTIONS:
AutoStart : if enabled, when utility is launched, also the rig is immediately powered on (no need to click on Power ON).
AutoClose : if enabled, after the rig has been Powered ON or OFF, the utility will be automatically closed.
Pc Shtdwn : when enabled, clicking Power OFF will shutdown the RTX and then the PC.
Minimize : if enabled, when closing (x), the utility is minimized to the system tray (still available with right click).
ENABLE REMOTE SERVER (work only with v.2) :
If you want to power ON/OFF your rig from a remote PC then leave this PC powered and connected to the RIG and follow the steps :
0.Go to setup tab
1.In the Password text box type a personal password (max 12 char, case sensitive)
2.In the Port text box type a free TCP/IP port (number from 1025 to up to 65535).
3.If you want to power on/off from Internet, then you also need to set your router to forward that port to this PC
4.Click Start
5.Leave this PC on (you can minimize the utility if needed)
REMOTE PC (FGB Client.exe)
a.Copy the FGB Wakeup Client on the remote PC
b.Start the Client Utility
c.Go to Setup tab
d.In Hostoname text box type the station PC IP Address (or dns name)
e.In Port text box type the same Port used on the Station PC
f.In Password text box type the same password as in the Station PC (u to 12 char, case sensitive)
g.Click Check button to verify that connection can be establish
h.Go to Controls tab
i.Click Green button to Power ON, Red button to Power OFF your RIG.
j.Click the Gary button if you want to shutdown your Station PC
Note1 : your operating system firewall, may ask you to allows this comunication. Please confirm to permitt to the client to talk with it's server
Note2: if you shutdown your station pc from remote, then you may not be able to power it again, take care.
Note3 : if you want to use from the internet, first check fro you lan, then test your router port forwarding.
