Tune Test Generator
Purpose
Tune Test Generator is a Windows utility designed to generate audio test signals for transceiver and amplifier tuning, testing, and verification.
The program can produce different signal types, including white noise, pink noise, brown noise, sine wave, two-tone signal, and frequency sweep. It allows the user to select the audio output device, adjust volume, frequencies, sweep speed, on/off timing, and continuous or timed operation.
The utility also includes optional PTT control, allowing automatic or manual transmit activation during test signal generation. Presets can be saved and recalled to quickly restore commonly used test configurations.
Its main purpose is to provide a simple and practical signal source for radio operators who need a repeatable audio test generator for RTX or amplifier setup, tune tests, audio chain checks, and general station testing.
Usage
Select the audio output device you want to use, then choose the desired test signal type: White Noise, Pink Noise, Brown Noise, Sine, Two-Tone or Sweep.
Adjust the output volume and, when required, set the test frequencies, sweep speed, and ON/OFF timing.
Press Start to generate the selected test signal. The signal automatically stops after 30 seconds, unless Continuous mode is enabled.
Use Continuous mode when you need the signal to run without the 30-second auto-stop timeout.
If PTT control is configured, you can enable Auto PTT to automatically activate transmit while the test signal is running, or use the PTT button manually.
Use the preset slots to save and recall your preferred test configurations.
Before using the program with a transceiver or amplifier, always check the selected audio output device, volume level, PTT configuration, and radio/amplifier setup.
Note
This utility is distributed with a standard installer and uninstaller.
To install the program, run the setup file and follow the installation wizard. To remove it, use the standard Windows uninstall procedure from Windows Settings / Apps, or use the uninstall shortcut created in the Start Menu.
This program was originally created for my own personal use and specific needs. It is shared as freeware for anyone who may find it useful.
Although the utility has been tested in normal use, it may still contain bugs, limitations, or unexpected behavior. It is provided as-is, without any warranty of any kind and without any guaranteed support.
